Why We Built This Site
Tennessee provides access to many public records, yet access depends on the custodian. The Tipton County Sheriff and jail hold booking and custody material. General Sessions and Circuit Court preserve filed charges and dispositions. TBI maintains Tennessee's central fingerprint-supported repository and TORIS public name checks. TDOC runs FOIL for felony custody and supervision, while TBI also maintains the state sex offender registry. We arrange the verified contacts, portals, fees, and request steps around those differences.
What You Will Find Here
- Official check routes: how TORIS name checks and authorized fingerprint checks differ
- Agency contacts: where to reach Tipton County police, the Sheriff, court clerks, TBI, and TDOC
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are found and read in Tipton County
- Record clearing: where Tennessee expungement requests begin and why a certified order matters
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Tennessee court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot issue a certified record, court paper, or Tennessee rap sheet
- We cannot submit an expungement form or public-record request for a visitor
- We cannot perform an official background check or retrieve a private record
- We cannot give legal advice about a charge, warrant, or court outcome
- We cannot promise that an agency's contact details or fees will never change
Only the Tipton County office, TBI, or other originating government agency can issue an official criminal record or certified copy.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes shown on some pages. Each provider controls its own service, results, terms, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports the site. We do not set the provider's charges or control the records it returns.
